    Rebecca Constantino, Ph.D.

    Founder & Executive Director of Access Books

    Rebecca Constantino holds a Ph.D. in Language, Literacy and Learning. She has published over 100 articles and a book in the areas of literacy development, equity in education, urban school and cultural perspectives of language acquisition. She founded Access Books  in 1999, and her organization provides quality books to public school and community libraries where the majority of students live at or below the poverty line. With volunteer help, they’ve refurbished over 300 libraries and donated more than 1.7 million books. During the current COVID-19 pandemic, they have continued to give out free books to community youth support educators and their communities.
